Item: 1963 AMF Roadmaster Jet Pilot
This is a little newer than the rest of my collection, but it was such a sad story I had to rescue it! This bike comes from a dark basement where it sat in pieces for decades. In fact, it was never assembled! I put the handlebar grips on for the first time. When my wife rides, this is the bike I take down first to ride with her because until recently, it never got ridden. It is not like new, it is new. It had some slight surface rust that was easily knocked off. The only blemish this bike really has is the headlight lense. It is broken and missing the cones. The rear reflector is also cracked from dry rot. Still, it is like an animal that was born in a cage and never let out until I rescued it. Now, I get the urge to ride in my neighbor's ditch, just to let it feel what a little off roadin' feels like!Shortly after finding this bike I found the sign seen in the pictures. It does not go with the bike, unless the price is right! The pedals are a cool candy cane style. The chrome shines like it did the day it was made. I even have some of the packaging and documentation it came with the day it was originally sold in 1963. It even has the remains of the tags put on the spokes when it was new on both wheels. This bike is still new, just 55 years old! The battery containers are new because they never had batteries in them. The seat is brand new and flashy. This is the sexiest AMF bike around! Vintage 60's AMF Jet Pilot. Ridable bike right now. Has newer tires and tubes. The bad is paint is falling off frame. No rust just lost adhesion. Chrome fenders are dent free. Has surface rust. Has been cleaning up nice with fine bronze wool and white vinegar. Original candy apple red seen under tank cover. Not sure if lights work. Is rust free.

is one cool vintage bike right out of the garage. I didnt clean it or anything. It is just the way it was stored decades ago. This is an AMF ROADMASTER JET PILOT. It still has a PA 1968-1969 bicycle license on the rear fender. The chrome looks good and should clean up nicely. I rubbed a section with my thumb and it shined nicely. This has a great STAR SPROCKET GEAR as seen in the photos. The Decals are in nice shape, the seat is nice ( needs cleaning as does the whole bike ) no rips, the grips are nice but dirty. T is a push button on the tank but I dont know what it does. This still has its fender light (rare with these) but the lense is missing and inside is rusty. The tires hold are but have cracking. The brakes work but are soft from sitting. The paint is still decent. The bike does have wear, scratches, surface rust, grease, etc........Everything you would expect on a used bike. This should clean up real well for the summer. The rims are 22.5 inches. THIS IS PICK UP ONLY IN KRESGEVILLE PA ZIP 18033.
