Can I still make my Microsoft Office 2010 Starter work again after an Office trial I installed has expired? 0 Cannot install 64-bit version of Visio due to Microsoft Office Single Image 2010. While Microsoft offers a cloud-based subscription service for Office, you can still purchase a standalone, traditional version of the suite for $219. Individuals who purchase Office Home and Business 2013 can install the software on one computer. If you purchase a new computer, you can transfer the software to the new machine. May 06, 2015  Office 365 offers a degree of convenience in that you can easily install the desktop and mobile apps to use with your account on a number of devices. But if you're new to the service, it's not.

I bought Office 2010. You can install it on a pc and a laptop. I don't have a laptop, but do my work from my home computer as well. Can I install it on my home computer instead of the laptop?

If you want to keep within the terms of the licence agreement, then no.

Can You Install Microsoft Office On Multiple Computers

It states:

INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS.

a. One Copy per Device. You may install one copy of the software on one device. That device is the 'licensed device.'

b. Licensed Device. You may only use one copy of the software on the licensed device at a time.

c. Portable Device. You may install another copy of the software on a portable device for use by the single primary user of the licensed device.

If you aren't bothered about keeping to your side of the agreement, then there is probably only going to be a problem if Bill Gates gets bored in his retirement and comes round to your house and tries to force you, at gunpoint, to prove that all your licences are legitimate.

If you want to install and run more than one version of Office on the same PC, here are some tips to help you avoid most set up errors:

Note: If not otherwise stated, the following statements also apply to individual apps such as Visio and Project.

  • If you have an Office 365 subscription or non-subscription version such as Office Home and Business 2019, 2016 or 2013, in most cases you can't run these versions together on the same computer.

There is one exception to this: If one of the two products is installed through MSI (which is common for volume licensed products), these two can run side-by-side. See How to use Office 2013 suites and programs (MSI deployment) on a computer that’s running another version of Office.

  • You may see a 'Stop, you should wait to install Office...' error. This can happen if you have a standalone Office application (such as Word) installed on your computer, but a newer version of the application is already included in the suite you're trying to install. In this case, the standalone version will be removed.

However, if the standalone application isn’t part of the new Office suite you are trying to install, then the standalone application will be left on the machine and the Office suite will successfully install.

  • Running multiple versions of Office on Windows when Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is enabled in not supported. See No support for multiple Office versions installed on a machine with Remote Desktop Service (RDS).

  • Install earlier versions of Office first. For example, install Office 2010 before installing Office 2019, Office 2016 , or Office 2013. This also applies to other products from the Office family, like Visio, Project or Access Runtime as well as Language Packs and Proofing Tools. If you don't install Office in this order, you may have to repair the later versions of Office afterwards.

  • Make sure all versions of Office are either 32-bit or 64-bit. You can’t have a mix of both. See “Office (64-bit or 32-bit) couldn’t be installed” error when trying to install.

Keep in mind that even if you follow these recommendations, you might still run into issues when you use two versions of Office on the same PC. If you decide not to keep both versions and you uninstall the earlier version, you might need to repair the version remaining to make sure that the file associations will work correctly.
