The light comes from a Spyder 3 laser and it looks awesome. It powers up and down just like the lightsabers in the films, thanks to an 'ultra-smooth magnetic gravity system.' The light is so brilliant it even looks good in broad daylight, though you'll get the best effects with the lights off. You can use any Spyder 3 laser with it, but it comes at a price -- $100 for the blade, then around another $300 for the laser. So that works out at about £250. Still, you can't put a price on becoming a Jedi.
The video is comically full of disclaimers, making clear THIS IS NOT A TOY. It claims it uses the world's most powerful lasers you can legally own. If used improperly, they can have 'devastating consequences' according to the voice-over. And 'due to the extreme powers of the Spyder 3, only operate [it] while wearing laser shades in a controlled environment.' Any kind of sword play could result in serious damage to people, pets or property. Got that?
It's a shame you can't have a full-on battle with the Lasersabers, but I'd be happy just having one to play with and show-off to people. There's no Darth Maul-style double-ender, but who knows, if these are popular (and I can't see why they wouldn't be) Wicked Lasers could potentially release one in the future.

You might not have heard, but there's a new 'Star Wars' movie opening later this week. Whether it's amazing, pretty good or just 'meh,' chances are good it's going to inspire a lot more fan films.
And, of course, the most important ingredient in such a film is a lightsaber duel. But who has the software and editing tools necessary to turn those broomstick handles into glowing vwoom-vwoom laser swords?

You will, however, need some time. Video editing can be a slow, painstaking process, and as you'll see in the following how-to video, the learning process here is tough. There's a lot to do just for this single example scene.
